Version 1.2.1Released 23 October 2026Tell others what you think of AEShot Capture.
  • Write a Review: give stars, your name and a few words, right in the app. Your review appears on aeshot.com once it has been checked.
  • Quick Access thumbnails now slide in and fade in after a capture, and slide back out as they close. With Windows’ animation effects off, they appear and close at once.
  • The app is now called AEShot Capture: in its menus, Settings, the update messages and, on Windows, the Start menu. Your settings, shortcuts and captures stay as they are.
Version 1.2.0Released 22 October 2026
  • Every feature is free for everyone, with no account and no ads.
  • AEShot Capture counts its installations anonymously once a day. You can turn this off in Settings › General.

  • When you pick an area to capture, the pointer is a crosshair again, right from the start.
Version 1.1.5Released 22 October 2026Capturing feels lighter.
  • The screen stays live while you pick what to capture: videos keep playing, everything dims a little, and what you are about to capture stays bright. The app you are working in keeps its focus.
  • Blue guides follow the pointer, with a soft light running along them.
  • When you capture a window, the window under the pointer shimmers, and AEShot Capture keeps up as windows open, close or move.
  • Esc now cancels every capture: picking, the self-timer, a scrolling capture, and a recording that has not started yet.
  • Quick Access shows window captures without a pale frame, and its buttons are larger and clearer.
Version 1.1.4Released 18 October 2026Updates install themselves.
  • From now on, when a new version is out, click Update: AEShot Capture downloads it, installs it and opens again. You only see the progress.
Version 1.1.3Released 17 October 2026Your own colors stay in the palette.
  • Colors you pick yourself in the editor are kept in a second row under the presets, newest first. To remove one, point at it and click its ×, or right-click it.
Version 1.1.2Released 17 October 2026A safety net for important fixes.
  • If an update fixes an important problem, AEShot Capture now tells you clearly and reminds you until it is installed.
Version 1.1.1Released 17 October 2026Permissions are now one click away.
  • In Settings › Permissions, click any permission that is not allowed yet, and AEShot Capture opens the right place in System Settings. For the camera and microphone, macOS asks you right away.

  • Capture an area, a window or the whole screen, with a magnifier, exact sizes and a self-timer.
  • Scrolling Capture turns long pages and chats into one image as you scroll, or Auto-Scroll scrolls for you.
  • Capture Text copies the text in anything on screen, and what QR codes hold, recognized on your computer.
  • An editor with arrows, shapes, text, numbered steps, highlighter, blur, pixelate, spotlight and backgrounds. Saved captures stay editable.
  • Record the screen, an area or one window as video or GIF, with computer sound, microphone, your camera, keystrokes and highlighted clicks, then trim it. On the Mac, apps you choose stay out of the recording.
  • Quick Access thumbnails after every capture, sharing, pinned screenshots, your recent captures in the editor, and a shortcut for every action.
  • In English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
