Privacy Policy
AEShot for Mac and Windows · Effective 2 October 2026
What AEShot does with your data
AEShot takes screenshots and screen recordings when you ask it to, and recognizes text in them when you use Capture Text. All of this happens on your device. Screenshots and recordings are saved only where you choose (by default, the AEShot folder in your Pictures folder) or copied to your clipboard. Unsaved recordings are kept in AEShot's own cache folder on your device and are deleted automatically after seven days.
What AEShot does not do
- No account and no sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or third-party SDKs.
- No uploads: AEShot sends nothing to any server, including ours.
- No sale or sharing of data, because none is collected.
Permissions

Microphone (optional) is used only while you record with the microphone turned on. You can withdraw any permission at any time in your system settings.
Settings
Your preferences, such as shortcuts and the save folder, are stored on your device and never leave it.
